Nitrous Oxide Sedation

As our mildest form of dental sedation, nitrous oxide is inhaled through a mask, producing an almost immediate calming effect. You can expect to remain at ease throughout your appointment, allowing our team to perform necessary dental work to improve your oral health and smile. While other forms of sedation require someone to drive you home after your appointment, you can freely leave following your visit after receiving nitrous oxide. The effects wear off quickly after the mask is removed.

Oral Conscious Sedation

With oral conscious sedation, all you have to do is take a pill. Once ingested, you will need to have someone bring you to your appointment, as the effects will ultimately take time to wear off after treatment. While in the chair, you will experience deep relaxation, and your senses will be numbed so that you feel no discomfort during your visit. It’s also unlikely that you’ll remember much or anything about your appointment.

IV Dental Sedation

If severe anxiety keeps you from visiting the dentist’s office for any reason, or you require multiple procedures to be performed in a single appointment, we may suggest IV sedation. This method is administered intravenously via the bend of the elbow or back of the hand, and the dosage is closely monitored. The effects of IV sedation allow for complete relaxation and may even cause you to doze off.
